
Israeli police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld said the Palestinian, identified as a 21-year-old from Beit Hanina in occupied East Jerusalem, was shot and killed after he allegedly hit one Israeli with his car, before stabbing another with a knife.
However, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that one of these Israelis was injured when he was apparently "hit by a vehicle that passed by the scene as he was attempting to flee."Rosenfeld initially reported that a third Israeli had been injured during the incident, but later confirmed that this person was treated for shock. A spokesperson for Shaare Zedek hospital confirmed that two Israelis were brought there with "very light" wounds. She said that one of them was an Israeli soldier, who appeared to have been stabbed, while the other had been hit by a car.The scene of the incident, in West Jerusalem's Romema neighborhood, was closed off by Israeli police.
