Israeli dies from earlier wounds

The Israeli settler Genadi Kaufman, stabbed in an attack at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron earlier this month, died of his wounds Wednesday morning at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Kaufman, a resident of the settlement Kiryat Arba near Hebron, came from the Ukraine 21 ago. He leaves behind two children: a son from his first marriage who is in the navy and a seven-year-old daughter from his second marriage. He worked as a maintenance man at the Tomb of the Patriarchs.
Kaufman was critically wounded in a stabbing at the Bakery Checkpoint near the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron on December 7.His attacker, Ihab Miswada, 21, from Hebron, was shot dead.
Clashes broke out late Tuesday in Abu Dis following a funeral held for a Palestinian killed earlier this month, whose body was held by Israeli authorities for 26 days.Locals told Ma’an that 24 Palestinians were shot and injured by rubber-coated steel bullets while 19 others suffered from severe tear gas inhalation when clashes erupted between locals and Israeli military forces.
